The symposium was co-hosted by the Canadian Association on Water Quality (CAWQ), PEOPLE Network, and CREATE-TEDGIEER. He holds a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Arctic Environmental Chemistry, and an Honorary Professorship at Aarhus University (Denmark). Dr. Wang\u2019s research interest is in molecular-level processes of chemical contaminants across environmental and bio-interfaces, and how such processes operate on regional and global scales. His most recent research has focused on environmental chemistry of mercury, Arctic marine cryospheric chemistry, and the interplay between climate change and chemical contamination. Dr. Wang has authored and co-authored more than 150 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and books.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Wang directs the Ultra-Clean Trace Elements Laboratory (UCTEL), leads the Sea-ice Environmental Research Facility (SERF), and is Chief Scientist of the Churchill Marine Observatory\u2019s Ocean-and-Sea-Ice Mesocosm (CMO-OSIM). Internationally, he serves as an Expert Coordination Group member and Chapter Lead for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP) on global and Arctic mercury assessment.
