PEOPLE Network Named Finalist for the 2026 Water Canada Awards

We are proud to announce that PEOPLE Network has been named a Finalist in the Education category of the 2026 Water Canada Awards.

Presented annually, the Water Canada Awards recognize outstanding achievements and leadership across Canada’s water sector. Being selected as a finalist highlights the PEOPLE Network’s commitment to excellence in environmental research, education, and training.

Since its establishment, the PEOPLE Network has been dedicated to developing the next generation of environmental professionals by providing interdisciplinary research opportunities, professional development, and meaningful collaborations among academia, government, industry, and community partners. Through its national and international partnerships, the Network equips highly qualified personnel (HQP) with the knowledge and skills needed to address complex environmental challenges, including water quality, emerging contaminants, climate change, and environmental sustainability.

This recognition reflects the collective efforts of our students, trainees, researchers, mentors, collaborators, and partners whose passion and dedication continue to advance the PEOPLE Network’s mission.

We are honored to be recognized among this year’s finalists,” said Dr. Bing Chen, Director of the PEOPLE Network. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our trainees, researchers, mentors, and partners who are committed to advancing environmental education and preparing future leaders to tackle complex environmental challenges.
