November 25-26, 2024, Zoom Meeting
Thank you for presenting at the PEOPLE 2024 Online Symposium! The Zoom meeting link will be circulated later. To ensure the smooth operation of the symposium, please follow the guidelines below.
- Arrive at your session 10 minutes in advance: show presence to co-chairs and please test audio and screen sharing features.
- The technical support will enable you as Zoom co-host before your presentation (so you can share screen).
- Each session includes 12 minutes presentation + 3 minutes Q&A.
- Familiarize yourself with Zoom features (mute and unmute, share screen, participant and chat panel, etc.).
- Undergraduate and graduate students are automatically in the student competition. We will announce first-place, second-place, and third-place winners.
- Optional but Recommended: If you are concerned about your internet stability, especially you are located outside Canada, please send your recorded presentation (downloadable Dropbox/Google Drive link) to us(peoplenetwork@mun.ca) as a backup by Saturday, November 23, 5 PM, EST.
- How to record your presentation: We recommend using MS PowerPoint: Click “Slide Show” “Record”. Please make sure to turn on your camera. More instructions please see here.
Student award evaluation criteria
Each student presentation will be rated by co-chairs (faculty – 50% weight; postdoctoral fellow – 50% weight) on the following categories:
- Organization and Appearance (10 points)
- Presentation (15 points)
- Research Concept and Methodology (10 points)
- Research Analysis and Discussion (10 points)
- Answering Questions (5 points)
