The PEOPLE 2025 International Conference, jointly organized with the Canadian Association on Water Quality (CAWQ), was held July 21–25, 2025 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The event brought together over 160 participants from more than 10 countries, uniting researchers, industry experts, policymakers, and community leaders to advance environmental sustainability solutions.
Over five days, the conference featured:
- 20 technical sessions showcasing cutting-edge research
- 17 keynote presentations and 2 plenary keynote talks from global thought leaders
- A dynamic special panel discussion on pressing environmental challenges
- Workshops and training sessions that fostered skill-building and collaboration
- A lively HQP Social Night encouraging networking among students, early-career researchers, and professionals
- A memorable conference banquet celebrating achievements, featuring the award ceremony for the PEOPLE Award, PEOPLE Student Award, Philip H. Jones Awards, and The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Award, and strengthening community bonds
The event provided a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and technology transfer, aligning closely with PEOPLE Network’s mission to connect science, innovation, and community engagement.
