Forwarded on behalf of Dr. Bing Chen, Director, PEOPLE Network
Dear PEOPLE Network members:
Happy New Year! Hope you had a wonderful holiday break.
I am pleased to announce our new PEOPLE Network coordinator, Dr. Wendy Huang. Please join me to welcome her to join our Network! Wendy obtained her PhD degree in environmental engineering from McMaster in 2017 and then conducted PDF research there focusing on wastewater treatment and especially microbial fuel and electrolysis cells. She is an outstanding young researcher with over 25 refereed journal publications and a number of awards/scholarships such as NSERC CGS/PGS/USRA and Ontario OGS PhD & Masters. She has arrived in St. John’s and started her coordinator work early this month including this NFRF application. Besides me, Wendy will be the main contact for our PEOPLE Network and this application team. BTW, many of you have met with her since she attended our PEOPLE 2019 event and gave an excellent presentation. I recruited her during that time given her excellent qualification and skills as well as very nice personality.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the Network, I would like to thank Dr. Bo Liu, our first Network Coordinator, very much for his dedication, passion and efforts in providing very timely and efficient assistance in establishing our Network, developing applications, organizing two PEOPLE events, coordinating members and researchers, and so much more. Please join me to give Bo a big round of applause! Bo will resume his PDF position and more concentrate on his research in our NRPOP Lab as another rising star in research (e.g., over 30 refereed publications). He will also provide help to our Network whenever needed.
Best regards,
Bing
